#009 Blogging & Crafting

Ok, blogging has never been my thing, so when I say I forgot I had a blog, try not to laugh.  Completely forgot that I was keeping one.  Thankfully, I don't forget as easily that I enjoy making cards.  I did go through a really major crafting slump for a while.  But then this girl that I follow on Twitter did a post about how she is getting ready to do holiday baking and to sign up if anyone on her friends list wanted goodies.  Who could resist that?  But it made me want to make her some cards in exchange, even though she was asking for nothing in exchange.  So here are a few of the cards that I made for her.  I sent her a total of 10 cards for the card pack.

 Sadly, when I took pictures with my phone, they looked great!  It wasn't until I looked at them on my computer that I realized that the flash had really washed them out.  Sorry about the poor picture quality.

More birthday cards!  The first one I had colored with colored pencils.  I only recently got some alcohol ink pens, but I haven't really learned how to color with them.  Everything comes out badly when I try to use them. On the copper colored Birthday Wishes card, I didn't have any circle stamps.  So I made some circles with cork and used them as stamps.  I like the effect the cork made.  I own circle stamps now, though.  I never know when I need something until I go to make where I want it to have specific features.  I had passed up circle stamps for ages until that card, then I realized that I really wanted them.

I had gotten a new reverse die (and I love them, let me tell you) so I was testing it out.  The first card didn't come out the way I wanted it to.  I didn't cut the background out the same size as the foreground, so you can see the outline of it.  It bothers me!   Autumn leaves die from  Serendipity Stamps The second one came out better.  I like it.  I ended up making a few of these with the punched out leaves placed if various areas, but this one is my favorite. Sentiment from Stampin' Up set Lovely As A Tree I did stamp it before I added the sentiment, which I'm seeing I should have placed the leaves then stamped it.  Still, I like it a lot despite that.
